About Mat

I had heard about homebrewing somewhere on tv and remembered that Darryl used to brew. So I borrowed some of his old equipment including a brewing book and started from there. A few experiments later, including my first mead, and I was really enjoying this new hobby. It showed so much that Darryl started up brewing again!

With my first 10 brews I started with kit beers (lot of Coopers), sugar and spice experiments, mead and even a chipotle-mulato chile beer. I devoured many brewing books and podcasts and started designing my own beers. Now I brew all-grain beers predominately using my own recipes along with my Brew Mates.

This isn't all, as in a short time I have become much more passionate about smell and taste in everything that I drink and eat - that is the most exciting part. I'm now much more critical about all foods especially beer. So what is left? A life of experimentation, research and perfecting the art of brewing? Sounds like fun to me!
